Oral Torah Shem (King Melchizeldech-Spelling?)met Abraham, they shared a meal and sacrificed to HaShem, Abraham gave the King a Tithe of the spoils of war - I think the Oral Torah was adhered too, it was not for people to select what and what they would not accept, but the written Torah has further commandments added to it in order to eradicated the errors of mankind, plus what was known orally needed to be written and still today we require both the oral explanation and the written explanation to truly understand Torah - this is where both yourself and the ChaBaD team provide a vital service to around the globe.
