The Rebbe would sit down with his students and say, time and time again:
The Baal Shem Tov taught that from every thing a person hears or sees in this world he must find a teaching in how Man should serve G‑d. In truth, this is the whole meaning of service of G‑d.
Eleven years ago I received a ‘purr baby’, a blue eyed, furry Ragdoll kitten. I was experiencing trepidation because I already had a parrot and many other responsibilities were in my lap. I always had dogs, cats or birds, but this kitten was different from the very beginning. He never stopped purring and his temperament was that of a person. Before long he grew into a beautiful cat who captured my entire being like no other animal I had ever been around. He listened to me read, pray, write, he had no need or want to run and jump, or play with his toys. He became my shadow always watching and waiting to see what I would do next. Yes, he slept with me and stroked my face and hair with his paws and kissed me and laid in my arms or on my legs. We became inseparable and I felt with all my heart and spirit, it was G d who sent this animal to me as a gift. Well to make a long story short my love Mr. Lucky Leo passed on in my arms this Friday and my life will never be the same.
