Why Are the Jews Compared to Stars?: Studying Rashi: Parshat Devarim
“The Lord, your G-d has multiplied you, and you are today as numerous as the stars in the sky.” (Deuteronomy 1:10) Were there really as many Jews on that day as stars in the sky? Is this an exaggeration or perhaps a metaphor? Rashi explains why the Jews are compared to the celestial bodies.

why compared to the stars Loved it, thank you!!
Have never heard about the stars as a picture of eternality.
Just as a picture of fertility of the jews , but today i am so happy because of this message.
Being a woman with not a numerous family this brought consolation, beautiful to my heart
